Visual identity is part of communication

The compilation of several concepts in one symbol to power the visual impact

About the project

Houdini was a famous magician, and because this project has its name, it promises to be magical for its users.
The Houdini project aims to reinforce research, technological development, and innovation, providing immersive and interactive experiences, whether in person or remotely, through augmented reality technology and voice interaction. It was co-financed by the European Union.

I worked on this project through ByAR – Augmented Your Reality. As a member of their team, I was responsible for the visual identity creation and the app UI design.

This project was developed as a team member of ByAR – Augmented Your Reality, where I worked as a designer. All rights reserved.

Logo

The starting point was to select the concept to incorporate: Augmented Reality, technology, and a New World/Universe.
Another important point was the colors to incorporate and could give force to the selected concepts.

So the logo incorporates:

  • futuristic and technology pallet color – reinforce the concepts incorporated and create morphism of “one world inside another world.

  • circle cut by a fusion with linear cube edges – a world of augmented reality.

  • half circle as a sphere support with electronic conductors circles in the edges – reinforce the idea of a world and connection to technology.

  • personalized typography rounded and electronic circles – align with the electronic concept circuit and technology.

Stationary

The visual identity started to take shape with the flyer elaboration. White space and light elements predominate in the design canvas. The simple and clean design became essential to the design communicative line.

Application

The application had two parts:

  • backoffice – where the user can scan the room and introduce the contents as augmented reality. Another part is where he can upload the content.

  • user visits – where the final user could experience augmented reality and technology and learn about the history and heritage.

The application interface was designed according to visual identity. Also, I developed iconography considering the usability and the engaging user experience.
